ABOUT THE DESIGNER

My journey with jewelry began when I was twelve, after my grandmother sent me a box of beads and video tutorials from Brazil. What began as play soon became purpose. During my high school summers, I turned my father’s small storefront in Costa Rica into a studio and boutique, selling handmade accessories and discovering the joy of creation

While studying Architecture, I founded my first brand, SacarinaPOP, at just eighteen β€” a colorful experiment in design that shaped my creative identity. In 2012, driven by a desire to master my craft, I moved to New York City to study Silversmithing and Jewelry Rendering, where the language of metal and form became my new medium of expression.

That same year, I founded St. Desiderata, a continuation of my vision β€” where art, symbolism, and craftsmanship intertwine. I returned to Costa Rica to collaborate with designer friends for Fashion Week and art exhibitions, bringing ideas to life through wearable stories.

In 2015, I relocated to SΓ£o Paulo, immersing myself in Jewelry CAD design and reconnecting with my Brazilian roots. Soon after, I returned to the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where the rhythm of the ocean and the lush landscape deeply influenced my creative process.

Now based in Hudson, New York, I work from my private studio, creating pieces that blend my architectural background with the mysticism of art, esotericism, mythology, and lore. Each design is a dialogue between intuition and technique β€” handcrafted in recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gemstones.

Every creation carries the spirit of slow luxury: meaningful, enduring, and imbued with a sense of soul.

My Promise to Sustainability

Slow fashion, and slow jewelry, is at the heart of my practice. Growing up in Costa Rica, I was shaped by a culture that values craftsmanship over consumption. There was no mass production, only thoughtful creation, repair, and reuse. Caring for the environment is not just a choice for me, it is part of my heritage and the values I was raised with.

For me, slow jewelry means resisting overproduction. Most of my very special pieces are made to order, ensuring that each creation meets a real need rather than contributing to excess. By maintaining full control over production, I oversee every detail, testing each design to ensure longevity and offering guidance for care and repair. My goal is not to follow seasonal trends, but to create enduring treasures meant to last a lifetime and remain timeless.

My work is artisanal at every step. Each design is conceived by me, cast in a small-scale workshop in Chinatown, NY, and meticulously finished in my private studio. The gemstones I select are ethically sourced from small dealers around the world, including the United States, chosen for their quality, story, and integrity.

This is my promise: jewelry that honors craftsmanship, nurtures the planet, and becomes part of your story.

My Creation Process

For me, creation is both an art and a ritual, an esoteric and holistic journey. I am deeply passionate about designing, drawing, making, and collaborating. My mission is to craft jewelry that tells stories and radiates positivity, transforming each piece into a meaningful experience.

My work is deeply inspired by my heritage. Being Brazilian and Costa Rican has opened my mind to diverse cultures and experiences, shaping not only who I am but also how I express myself through art. Each design carries echoes of these influences, merging tradition, symbolism, and personal vision.

My guiding principle is simple yet profound, strive to be happy, and to infuse that joy into every creation.
